Salesforce Tutorial
Salesforce is a product built on the force.com platform by a company called salesforce.com.
The underlying technology of Salesforce is a platform called the force.com platform.
Salesforce is the product, and salesforce.com is the company.
The force.com platform is a PaaS (Platform as a Service), which is mainly a Cloud base. It means that there is no physical hardware or software installation required by the user.
In other words, Salesforce is a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool. It allows companies to keep records and interact with their customers.
Cloud-based service means that as long as we have access to the Internet, we have access to our service.
There is no need for an IT person in the house to deal with software updates and maintenance.
SaaS (Software as a Service) does not allow much customization of the software that we are using as user preferences, whereas PaaS essentially will enable us to build our software to expand on existing infrastructure.
