Erase Command in Autocad

In AutoCAD, use the Erase command. In AutoCAD, the Erase command is a highly significant and a valued tool. This command is found in the Modify panel of the home tab. You can remove things from the drawing by erasing them.

This technique does not replicate items to the Clipboard, from which ever source they may be copied elsewhere. You may also delete sub items like faces, meshes, and vertices while working with 3D objects. (This does not apply to AutoCAD LT.)

 Instead of choosing items to erase, key L to erase the most recent object drawn, p to delete the preceding or earlier selection set, or ALL to erase the whole selection set. You may also type? (Question bank) to receive a complete list of alternatives present.

Use the Erase command in AutoCAD.

  • This command can be found in the Modify panel of the home tab.
  •  This command in AutoCAD is useful for fast erasing or removing lines or any other object.
  • The Erase command is added to the home tab's modified panel. Alternatively, one can use the erase command by typing 'E' in the command bar. In AutoCAD, you can also use the wipe command. To pick objects, we may utilize a variety of selection methods. The Erase command can be used to eliminate the specified objects even further. Examples are P (to remove the previous selection set), L (to delete the last selection set), and all (to delete all selection sets) (to delete all objects from the drawing).

To delete a line, use the command.

In computers, the command del (or erase) is used in command-line interpreters (shells) like COMMAND.COM, cmd.exe, 4DOS, NDOS, 4OS2, 4NT and

Windows PowerShell. It is employed to delete one or multiple files or complete directories from a file system.

The numbers 1 and 2 refer to the selected items. The chosen items can also be deleted using the 'Delete' button on your system's keyboard. The Erase command may also be used to erase faces, vertices, and meshes in 3D.

ERASE COMMAND IN AUTOCAD.

1) The Erase command is a very crucial and one of the most useful commands in AutoCAD. This command can be found in the Modify panel in the home tab of the software.

2) This command is employed in AutoCAD for erasing or deleting lines or any object with ease.

3) Erase command is placed in the modified panel in the home tab. Or one can even find it by typing ‘E’ in the command bar to invoke the erase command.

4) After selecting the command from the panel; select a line or object which you want to erase by ‘direct selection ‘, ‘crossing window selection ‘(right to left dragging), or ‘window selection ‘(left to right dragging) method.

5) Right-click or press the Enter key.

6) Line or object will be erased as your result.

Type E or Erase and hit Enter on the command line or command prompt.

  • Select the two lines indicated in the diagram above.
  • Press Enter key.
  • The two lines will be removed as a result.

We'd want to remove the inner circle.

The steps are as follows:

Type E or Erase and hit Enter on the command line or command prompt.

  • With a little square cursor, choose the inner circle as seen in the figure below:

Common FAQ

Trim means to decrease somewhat; to cut; notably, to eliminate excess; for example, 'trim a hedge', 'trim a beard.' The ad position of can be used in the present perfect tense to identify the deleted component, whereas erase means to erase markings or information.

Objects are removed from a drawing.

Selected objects in the drawing can be erased. This technique does not replicate items to the Clipboard, from wherever they may be copied elsewhere.

You can also delete sub objects like faces, meshes, and vertices while dealing with 3D objects. (This does not apply to AutoCAD LT.)
