To perform arithmetic operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and other operations, numbers are utilized in various arithmetic values. The digit, its position inside the number, and the number system's base all contribute to a number's value. The mathematical values used for counting, measuring, identifying, and measuring basic quantities are known as numbers, also known as numerals. What are whole numbers?

Whole numbers are positive numbers that include zero, and they range from 0 to infinity. Fractions and decimals are not included in whole numbers. All positive integers and the subset of numbers that make up zero are whole numbers. The entire number has an infinite count. These numbers are typically used to measure essential amounts in daily calculations. Natural numbers, which include zero, can only be made up of whole numbers. It is denoted by the letter "W," and its corresponding set of numbers are "0", "1”, “2”, " 3", "5", "6", "7", "8,"... etc. The whole number zero denotes nothing or a null value.

What are integer numbers?

All positive counting numbers, zero, and all negative counting numbers that count from negative infinity to positive infinity are included in the category of integers. Decimals and fractions are not included in the set. The letter "Z" stands for the set of integers.

Various Integer Types

Integers come in two varieties:

1. Positive Integers: If an integer number is greater than zero, it is said to be positive. As in 1, 2, 3, 4,...
2. Negative integers: If an integer number is less than zero, it is considered to be negative. Example: -1, -2, -3, -4, etc. Zero is defined as a number that is neither positive nor negative in this context.

Are all whole numbers Integers?

Whole numbers are made up entirely of zero, and only positive integers are included in all positive integers, such as 0, 1, 2, 3, 10, 15, etc. Negative integer, decimal, or fractional values are not included. Since all whole numbers are integers, the answer is YES. However, since there are also negative integers, not all integers are whole numbers.

Various Types of Numbers

The number system has numerous types of numbers that are divided into sets. The categories are listed below:

1. All positive counting numbers, zero, and all negative counting numbers that count from negative infinity to positive infinity are included in the category of integers. Decimals and fractions are not included in the set. The letter "Z" stands for the set of integers.
2. Complete numbers: Positive numbers up to and including zero, which ranges from 0 to infinity, are whole numbers. We cannot insert fraction and decimal in this set. The set can be written as W=0,1,2,3,4,5,..................
3. Complex numbers are a class of numbers that also includes fictitious numbers. If  we consider that "a" and "b" are real numbers, then they can be written as a+bi. Its designation is "C."
4. Decimal numbers: A decimal number is any numerical value that contains a decimal point. You can write it as 2.5, 0.567, etc.
5. Natural numbers: Natural numbers are very often used. We can say that all positive numbers which are from 0 to 1 are natural numbers. If we want to symbolise the natural numbers then we can do this by N. These are the numbers that we typically use to count. The natural number set can be written as N=1,2,3,4,5,6,7,.......
6. Numbers that may be written as the ratio of two integers are referred to as rational numbers. It contains all numbers and has a decimal or fractional form of expression. "Q" stands for it.
7. Real numbers are predetermined amounts without any fictitious values. It contains all of the decimal, fractional, and positive and negative integer values. R is typically used to indicate it.
8. Unrealistic numbers that cannot be stated as fractions or as integer ratios are referred to as irrational numbers. The number of non-repeating digits following the decimal point is limitless, and it can be expressed in decimals. Its symbol is "P."
