PHP array_chunk() Function

The array_chunk() function in PHP is used to split an array into chunks where the last chunk may contain less than size elements.

Syntax

array_chunk ( array $array , int $size [, bool $preserve_keys ] )

Parameter

array(required)- This parameter represents the array to work upon.

size(required)- This parameter signifies the size of each chunk.

preserve_key(optional)- This parameter is of Boolean type whose default value is False.

• If set to TRUE, the keys are preserved.
• If set to FALSE, the chunks will be reindexed numerically.

Return

This function returns a multidimensional array (numerically indexed) which starts with zero, where each dimension contains size elements.

It returns null if the size is less than 1.

Errors/Exception

If the size is less than 1, E_WARNING will be thrown, and NULL will be returned.
