PHP rtrim() Function

The rtrim() function in PHP is used to strip off the whitespace (or other characters) from the end of a string.

If the second parameter is not specified, this function will strip are following characters:

  • " " or an ordinary space.
  • "\t" or a tab.
  • "\n" or a new line (line feed).
  • "\r" or a carriage return.
  • "\0" or the NULL-byte.
  • "\x0B" (ASCII 11 (0x0B)), a vertical tab.

Syntax

rtrim ( string $str [, string $character_mask ] )

Parameter

str(required)-

Return

This function returns the modified string.
