PHP str_split() Function

The str_split() function in PHP splits a string into an array.

String

str_split ( string $string [, int $split_length = 1 ] )

Parameter

string(required)- This parameter represents the input string.

split_length(optional)- This parameter signifies the maximum length of the chunk. The default value is 1.

Return

This function returns an array broken down into chunks with each being split_length in length if the optional split_length parameter is specified, else each chunk will be one character in length.

It returns FALSE  if the parameter split_length is less than 1.

It returns the entire string as the first (and only) array element, if the split_length length exceeds the length of the string.
