About College - The Institute of Armament Studies, now known as the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), was founded on the CME campus in 1952.

The Institute was redesignated "Institute of Armament Technology (IAT)" in 1967, and it was relocated to Girinagar, Pune, in 1968.
