Motherboard is an important and essential part of a PC. Motherboard plays an important role in the working of a PC. It includes many circuits and slots which contain many different useful items like RAM’s, SSD, HDD and other components can be inserted into the slots. There are many different types of motherboards in the market but in this article, we are going to learn the differences between AT motherboard and an ATX motherboard.

What is AT Motherboard?

AT motherboard is also called Advanced Technology motherboard. The AT motherboards can only fit in AT casing, they cannot fit in the ATX casing. The AT motherboards do not come with sleep mode feature built in. The AT motherboards consume more power when compared to other type of motherboards because there is no sleep feature in it.

What is ATX Motherboard?

ATX motherboards are also called Advanced Technology eXtended Motherboard. The ATX motherboards also do not fit in the AT casing. The ATX motherboards come with the sleep feature inbuilt with in it and it does not consume more power because when there is inactivity the ATX motherboards go into the sleep mode automatically.
