Difference between E-Commerce and M-Commerce

With the time changes, people are not interested in staying in the queue. So people are now adopting new trends like E-Commerce, M-Commerce, etc. E-Commerce is defined as the selling, buying, ordering, and conducting transactions online of products or goods with the help of the internet or web. At the same time, M-Commerce is defined as trading the market through wireless devices like mobile phones, tablets, etc. 

What is E-Commerce?

E-Commerce means Electronic commerce. E-Commerce is defined as the selling, buying, ordering, and conducting transactions online of products or goods with the help of the internet or web. With the use of E-Commerce, the buyer can directly be made the payment of the order to the seller without any problem. Some example of E-Commerce is online ticket booking, online ordering, online recharge, online banking, social networking, etc.

To start E-Commerce, we first need to make a website for the E-Commerce. So the website is the essential requirement to start E-Commerce online. With the help of the website, we can add some features to our E-Commerce, like selling, marketing, conducting online transactions, etc. Any monetary transaction made with the help of the internet is also known as E-Commerce. E-Commerce is divided into the following types. These are as follows.

  2. B2C (Business to customer)
  3. C2C (Customer to customer)
  4. C2B (Customer to business)

1. B2B (Business to Business)

In this E-Commerce, the buying and selling of goods or products are done between two business companies. This type of E-Commerce is known as B2B (Business to business).

Example- Oracle, Qualcomm, Alibaba, etc.

2. B2C (Business to Customer)

In this E-Commerce, the buying and selling of goods or products are done between business and customer. This type of E-Commerce is known as B2C (Business to Customer).

 Example- Dell, Intel, etc.

3. C2C (Customer to Customer)-

In this E-Commerce, the buying and selling of goods or products are done between two customers. This type of E-Commerce is known as C2C (Customer to Customer).

 Example- OLX

4. C2B (Customer to Business)-

In this E-Commerce, the buying and selling of goods or products are done between the customers to the businesses. This type of E-Commerce is called C2B (Customer to Business).

What is M-Commerce?

M-Commerce means Mobile commerce. M-Commerce is the upgraded version of E-Commerce. When commercial marketing is performed through wireless devices, then this is called M-Commerce. It includes so many activities like browsing, selling, buying, paying, ordering, etc. After implementing M-Commerce, E-Commerce is expanding because, with the help of M-Commerce, E-Commerce has increased its accessibility, portability, and connectivity. Now with the use of M-Commerce, we can perform all the E-Commerce activities wirelessly. The latest technology, such as Short Message Service (SMS), Wireless Application Protocol (WAP), and Bluetooth, are behind the success of M-Commerce. It can be used in many areas such as money transfer by mobile phone, ticket booking by mobile phone, etc. The mobile phone has a small screen, so it does not provide that much user experience. 

Difference between E-Commerce and M-Commerce
