Difference beween Fashion and Trend
Can you resist buying new clothes while window shopping? Can you feel "not bad" after coming home and not buying something you liked, but your mom was like "enough with the shopping"? Can you resist the stress you take before going out deciding what to wear?
I would say YES to all these questions because I may have a solution to these problems all girls face once in their life.
Fashion
Fashion refers to the popular style of clothing, hair, accessories, makeup, footwear, etc.
Firstly, who has this idea that they cannot repeat clothes or wear the old ones again & again? I mean, why not? I know following Trend is important, and I do it all the time, and I still manage to look comfy and fashionable at the same time. And I do know it because of the compliments I receive from my friends.
"A little bit of old tint with new stuff always turns out amazingly beautiful." Buy less and combine your different pieces of clothing all together to make an outfit. 'Stunning looks and less spending', sounds cool, right? Here's what you need to take care of:
- Casual - For daily use, who needs something blingy? The answer is none of us. Find things that are comfortable to wear, will look good on you, and serve you the purpose of styling it multiple times in multiple ways. For example - Shirts, Plain or oversized tees, jumpers, denim, culottes, plain skirt. You can then add a jacket on top of it and BOOM!!!! You are good to go.
- Accessories - Now, this should be the most important part. Accessories are always a good addition to any outfit and can help blend the vintage with the modern subtle. It includes handbags (a sling, backpacks, clutches, etc.), jewellery (pendants, earrings, watches, bracelets, ring etc.), scarf, hats or cap and so on.
- Hair and Makeup - Even if you don't think of styling old clothes with new you can always do your hair, put on some makeup and look classy. Many girls like to do a bold makeup look in the daytime, which is fine. But once you choose your outfit and accessories as mentioned above, you would like to keep it subtle. Nude and subtle looks are to die for. Messy hair but still styled is a thing.
- Footwear - Choose what looks good on you. According to us, more you go with the trend, the more confused you get. It's good to follow the trend, but it's even better to choose what you want. For example - I saw a post one day of an influencer wearing heels under pyjamas. Yes, you read it right. I mean, how cool does it sound. Is it not a trend? But still, she did wear that because? Who cares? Dress for yourself.
- Body language - Okay, let's assume I have motivated you enough to follow this. But isn't it a waste if you don't know how to carry yourself? Be who you are and not what people want you to be. Be confident and comfortable with your body type and dressing. After all, that's what makes you look modern.
But change is the one constant factor in fashion, and the introduction of new styles keeps coming.
Trend
Trend refers to what is popular at a certain point in time. This term is used with fashion. For example, swing dresses (a trend of the 1950s). 4 types of factors often influence trends in fashion:
- Political
- Social
- Economic
- Technological
Trends are like waves in the ocean; it reaches the shore once in a while.
Brands market products in clever ways to make consumers feel like purchasing them are necessary to help them feel stylish.
There is no relation between looking fashionable vs. looking trendy, nor does it have anything to do with who spends more money shopping.
How do trends start?
Nowadays, people believe in making their way instead of following others, and this attitude helps make a new trend. Most of the styles you see of models or on runaways are fashion trends. Various fashion bloggers intend to make their trends on social media go viral. In earlier times, people didn't have these many platforms to make trends as we have.
What's the difference?
To sum it up, fashion means two things. First, it refers to timeless guidelines that define today's trends. Secondly, it refers to how you choose to express yourself regardless of what anyone says or wears. On the other hand, trends are widely marketed to customers and are practiced by many people.
