The roles in Hindi films that Nawazuddin Siddiqui played are what made him famous as an actor. He was born in India on May 19, 1974. His training was done at the National School of Drama. In 2012, Siddiqui made his feature film debut with Prashant Bhargava's Patang, and Roger Ebert commended his portrayal. His collaborations with director Anurag Kashyap on the films Raman Raghav 2.0, Black Friday, and The Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) earned him acclaim on a global scale (2016).  Siddiqui was also part of The Lunchbox (2013). The Cannes Film Festival has chosen and screened 8 of his works, making him the only actor in the world to accomplish this. Early Life

Siddiqui was born on May 19, 1974, into a zamindari Muslim family in the village of Budhana in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district. He lived in Uttarakhand for the majority of his youth. He completed his degree in Chemistry from Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya which is in Haridwar. He next worked as a pharmacist in Vadodara for a year before relocating to Delhi in quest of employment. After seeing a play in Delhi, he became immediately interested in performing. He and a group of friends appeared in over ten plays to satisfy one of the requirements for admission to the National School of Drama (NSD) in New Delhi. One of the plays was performed in Dehradun.

Career

In New Delhi, Siddiqui attended the National School of Drama. He relocated to Mumbai after earning his degree in 1999. He debuted in Bollywood in 1999's Sarfarosh, a supporting role in the Aamir Khan film. He later made appearances in the films Jungle (2000), School (2000), and Munnabhai MBBS (2003)). His attempts to find employment in television serials after arriving in Mumbai were unsuccessful. He appeared in the 2003 short film The Bypass with Irrfan Khan. He lived in a flat with four other people and was generally unemployed between 2002 and 2005. He ran irregular acting workshops to make ends meet.

Siddiqui's financial situation was at its worst in 2004, one of his most difficult years. He requested permission to stay with him from a senior NSD. If he agreed to prepare meals for the senior, he was permitted to live with him in a Goregaon area flat. Siddiqui made a few minor appearances between 2004 and 2007, one of which was in the Golden Leopard-nominated movie Black Friday from that year. He had a fleeting cameo as Rangila in the 2009 song "Emotional Atyachar" from the film Dev D. He and Rasila performed a duet. The following year, he made his New York debut, but he first received widespread appreciation as an actor for his performance as a journalist in Anusha Rizvi's 2010 movie Peepli Live. In 2012's Patang: The Kite, directed by Prashant Bhargava, he played a role. The movie premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival. Roger Ebert, a film reviewer, lauded Siddiqui's performance and gave him the "Thumbs Up Trophy" for how the part "changed his acting technique." Following its premiere in the United States and Canada, the movie received positive reviews from The New York Times, which helped it gain a lot of popularity.

Then, in 2012, Siddiqui starred in Kahaani as the stereotypically impatient intelligence officer Khan. The actor's stardom increased after the release of Anurag Kashyap's gangster epic Gangs of Wasseypur. The 2012 Cannes Film Festival had the world debut of Ashim Ahluwalia's Miss Lovely, in which Siddiqui played Sonu Duggal in what he calls his "most honest performance to date." Siddiqui then released the sequel to Gangs of Wasseypur. He starred as the title character in the horror film Aatma in 2013. He received numerous honors for The Lunchbox.

Personal Life

The younger brother of Siddiqui, director Shamas Nawab Siddiqui, stays with him in Mumbai. Yaani, and Shora, his daughter from a previous marriage to Aaliya, aka Anjana Kishor Pandey, were born to the couple. Aaliya stated that she planned to file for divorce from Siddiqui in an interview with The Indian Express on May 19, 2020. Siddiqui still finds time to farm in his native Uttar Pradesh town of Budhana in addition to his acting profession. He wants to inform farmers about available new methods and how they might enhance their quality of life. Additionally, he has used innovative irrigation methods in Budhana, which have greatly aided the local farmers.

Later, Nawazuddin expressed regret and said his remarks had been misinterpreted.
  • In 2016, following a heated argument about parking, the actor was accused of slapping a girl. In an altercation over parking places, according to the police report, Nawazuddin lost control of his temper and slapped the woman.
