Sonakshi Sinha is a famous actress in Bollywood and also the daughter of the legendary Bollywood politician and actor Shatrughan Sinha. She is a very skilled actress who is also one of the highly paid actresses in the Bollywood industry. She is being referred to as Sona.

Birth and Education

Sonakshi Sinha was birthed in Patna, Bihar, on June 2, 1987, and raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She was an exceptionally talented student who attended Arya Vidya Mandir in Mumbai. She did her graduation from Shrimati Nathibhai Damodar Thakersey Women's University with a degree in fashion design. She was never fond of being an actress. Throughout her childhood, she accompanied her father to several filming locations. Her stunning appearance and charming attitude are enough to make everyone envy.

She stands 5'7" tall and weighs around 65 kg. Her physique is in good shape. She has black hair and dark brown eyes. She was overweight, but for her debut film, Dabangg, she shed more than 30 kg. Despite her demanding schedule, she attends the gym regularly and seeks to live a sustainable lifestyle. Sona received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Maiden for her debut film, Dabangg in 2010.

Family

Sonakshi was born into a Hindu household. She was largely in the spotlight since she was the daughter of the famous Shatrughan Sinha. Her father is currently a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party, and her mother, Poonam, is a housewife who was a formal Miss Young India in 1968. She is the family's first girl child, and she has two older twin brothers, Kush Sinha and Luv Sinha.

In the period drama film Lootera (2013), Sonakshi received rave reviews for her depiction of a tormented woman struggling from tuberculosis. she received a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actress, as well as nominations for International Indian Film Academy Award and two Screen Awards.

  • Sonakshi next starred in the criminal romance thriller Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara! By Milan Luthria alongside Akshay Kumar and Imran Khan. Prabhu Deva's R... Rajkumar, in which she co-starred with Shahid Kapoor, was her penultimate release of the year. Although the picture was a minor monetary success, both it and her performance garnered unfavourable reviews.
  • In 2014, Sona was seen in A.R. Murugadoss's action film Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, which earned mixed-to-positive reviews from critics and became a box office blockbuster after she provided the voice of Jewel in the Hindi-dubbed Rio 2.
  • In 2017, she starred in Sunhil Sippy's comedy film Noor, which was inspired by Saba Imtiaz's novel Karachi, You're Killing Me! Her performance received widespread acclaim. In 2018, she co-starred with Diljit Dosanjh, Karan Johar, and others in the humorous spoof film Welcome to New York. The film garnered overwhelmingly unfavourable reviews, with Sinha's look, in particular, being chastised. The same year, Sona co-starred in the female-oriented comedy film Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi as the eponymous character with Diana Penty.
  • In the comedy film Total Dhamaal, she sang the song "Munda". She then appeared in the ensemble cast historical romance picture Kalank. The picture did not fare well commercially. Sona was cast in the 2019 drama film Mission Mangal, which had an ensemble cast.

  • Bhangi controversy: During an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Sonakshi unintentionally made a statement that drew harsh criticism.
  • The Ramayana issue arose when Sonakshi was asked a topic from the epic Ramayana on the programme Kaun Banega Crorepati. However, the actress did not respond and instead accepted a lifeline. However, she received a significant amount of backlash as a result of this event, and she was also heavily mocked by netizens.
