Career

Nushrratt has so far enjoyed a fruitful professional life. She began her career as an actress after being chosen for the serial "Kittie Party," on which she spent a year working. During her college years, she applied to work as a scout for a talent management organization but was instead given the job in 2002. She explored her interest in acting while working in theatres. In 2006, Nushrratt made her Bollywood debut in the movie "Jai Santoshi Maa." After that, she appeared significantly in the commercially unsuccessful sci-fi love story "Kal Kissne Dekha" in 2009. In 2010, she appeared in the group play "Love Sex Aur Dhokha" by Dibakar Banerjee. The film was well-received by critics and ended up being a financial success. The success of the movie gave Bharucha's career a much-needed boost. She eventually gained notoriety in 2011 because of her portrayal as a nagging girlfriend in the film "Pyaar ka Punchnama," in which she co-starred with Kartik Aaryan. Then, in 2013, she appeared in one of Luv Ranjan's less successful films, "Akaash Vani."

Despite this, she recasts her character with Kartik Aaryan in Pyaar ka Punchnama 2, the follow-up film to Pyaar ka Punchnama. Her movie afterwards became a tremendous financial hit. She co-starred with Aaryan in the romantic comedy "Sonu ke Titu ki Sweety" in 2018, becoming a huge hit. Several Stories Related to Nusrat

Nusrat related a funny incident when her father found out she was wearing a bralette in the song Chote Chote Peg from Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety in one of her interviews with a member of the entertainment media. She continued by saying that she was worried about her parents' reaction, so she held off telling them about the song. When the song was published, she didn't even play it for them. After that, her family watched Chote Chote Peg on their large television when she returned from doing promos. She silently slipped into the room when her father asked her slowly if she was wearing a bra in the song. She laughed, said it was a bralette, and pondered how she would approach the matter.

Nushrat Bharucha

In response to the question of why she wasn't explored enough to develop as an actress, Nushrratt stated that she & Freida Pinto were both candidates for the female role in the 'Academy Award-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire. Still, she sadly lost out because of her facial traits. She asserted that the production team for the filmmaker sat her down and told her that she didn't look like a slum girl. She was also informed how great an actress she was and how perfect she was in every way except that she didn't look the part. She argued that it had afterwards occurred to her as well. She was characterized by casting directors as looking like an urban girl with sharp features. While that may be accurate, she thinks that modern make-up techniques are readily available and may make her look just like the character. I don't see how people can accept watching Shraddha Kapoor in roles of the affluent Riya Somani and the sister of a mafia don, Haseena Parkar, she said. She reasoned that this is the case since Shraddha is a well-known celebrity and producers are willing to play with her appearance, whereas she hasn't yet achieved fame.

In a different interview with a media member, Nushrratt admitted to being depressed despite having a successful profession. She added that although the voyage had been difficult for her, it would have been considerably more difficult without the support of her family and friends. Nushrratt, who had a conventional upbringing, has said that her parents disapproved of her choice to seek a career in the glamorous movie industry. She claimed that her father almost cried when she witnessed one of her public appearances in which she revealed having experienced depression. Even then, her parents were quite supportive. She added that when her father returned home after seeing the interview the night it aired, he sobbed and said he had no idea what she had been through. Nushrat went on to claim that the only thing that had already kept her going at the time was the awareness that she would wake up to her family & that basis of her existence had been a routine, uncomplicated one. Nushrat enjoyed the attention she started to get after "Pyaar ka Punchnama 2" and, more importantly, after "Sonu ke Titu ki Sweety" after a succession of failures. She claimed to now comprehend the true meaning of success. While she signed autographs & posed for pictures with people, cameras trailed her car. She thought it was weird. She said, embracing the truth that she loves every second of it. She now considers herself a film industry member and believes that her fame has increased.

Controversies

1. The high-slit dress debate

When Nushrratt attended the Filmfare Award 2020 and chose to wear a pretty exposing gown, she caused quite a sensation. Even though the upper part of the dress seemed to be completely hidden, it was the bottom cut that got her into trouble to two leather straps held the outfit in place, and the split went all the way below to her hips. Later, she was approached by several media outlets, with whom she spoke about the criticism surrounding her attire because of the high slit. She responded to the incident by stating that everyone has the freedom to express themselves and the right to hold their views. Similarly, she had every right to wear anything she liked and chose to do so by wearing that dress.

Nushrat remained unmoved by the criticisms even though many people thought the garment was too daring. Because she could relate to a particular audience, she said that all of the compliments on the costume gave her more confidence. She continued by saying that it genuinely gives her much bravery to move forward with these style declarations and to lift the bar in the areas where she believes it necessary and where she wants to go. When asked if she felt nervous wearing that dress, she responded that she knew exactly what she was doing and how to act accordingly, including the proper stride and pose to adopt or to be aware of what not to do. She appeared unconcerned and seemed to have complete faith in her skills.

2. Getting nasty mail for advocating condom use

Nushrat Bharucha eventually switched from glamorous roles in vintage films to content-driven projects centred on social topics in 2022. The diva is portrayed favourably in Janhit Mein Jaari, which was released this year, but this time, she goes above and beyond by displaying a condom salesperson. Unfortunately, the depiction of a saleswoman pushing condoms offended several people. Since the movie's poster and trailer release, the trolls have been hostile.

Nushrat received slurs and jeers for supporting condoms. She responded to the critics by publishing screenshots of the crudest and most offensive comments made in response to the theme of her movie. While displaying the screenshots, Nushrat continued, "This is the only mindset that has to be addressed," She vowed to speak up if someone raised their finger. When questioned about how she felt when offered the part of a woman hawking condoms, she said she didn't feel uneasy or wonder if she should take the job once. She added that parents and schools should share information about such sensitive topics. In addition, since kids believe what their parents say, parents need to talk to their kids about sex so they don't get an erroneous idea about it from unreliable sources.

But the movie didn't just draw haters because of what it said; a writer named Deepak Singh also sued it, claiming that the film Janhit Mein Jaari was based on his writing. The initial poster for the movie also used elements from his book's design.

3. Connection rumours

Even though the actress hasn't been connected to any Bollywood celebrities, a few names have emerged. Nushrat has not officially recognized her relationships with any of the two men from the industry who are rumoured to have dated her. There are a few names, including Kartik Aryan. Kartik and Nushrat have worked together on four films. The actors have strong chemistry together, and rumours that the on-screen couple was courting initially surfaced during the filming of their debut project, Pyaar Ka Punchnama. The couple was frequently spotted together before Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety's success. However, they both consistently denied rumours of a romantic relationship. They repeatedly justified their relationship as close friends in front of the media. They repeatedly stated that they were merely close friends in front of others.

Another man she was said to be associated with was Luv Ranjan, the director of four of Nushrat's movies. The idea of a heroine-director relationship is common in Bollywood, and this pattern has been present for a while. According to insiders, Nushrat had a passionate, long-lasting relationship with director Luv Ranjan. There have been rumours that the two began dating while Pyaar ka Punchnama 2 was filmed. Contrarily, Luv Ranjan and Nushrat have consistently refuted these claims, rejecting any close connection.

Laureates and Honors

Nushrat had received numerous awards, but her performance in Pyaar ka Punchnama 2 received the most attention. For her work in Pyaar ka Punchnama 2 and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, she received awards from the 'BIG Star Entertainment Awards in 2015 and the 'Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival, respectively. She also received the 'Best Actress in a Negative Role award' in 2018. She won the 'Best Actress of the Year - Critics from the Gold Awards & the 'Best Actress - Editor's Choice from the 'IWM Digital Awards' in 2022 for her OTT release, Chhori.
