And due to his outstanding wicket-keeping talent, he became the Commando Cricket Club's wicketkeeper from 1995 to 1998.

After passing the 10th exam, Mahi(Nickname) gave more attention to cricket. While playing cricket, this veteran player had to compromise his education. Thus, Mahi left education after the 12th standard.

About his early career

Mahi was selected to play for central Coal Field Limited when the great Indian cricketer was playing cricket only at school and club level in 1998. Mahi, meanwhile, impressed former Cricket Association president Deval Sahay with his determination, hard work, and good performance. Dhoni was therefore permitted to play first-class cricket.

From 1998-to 1999, Mahi was unable to get into East Zone U-19 team or any other Indian domestic team, but in the following year, Mahi was selected for the East Zone U-19 team for the CK Naidu Trophy.
