When she was 17 years old, feature and commercial filmmaker Kailash Surendranath hired Ekta Kapoor as an intern. Six of her serialized plays were rejected, costing her a total of 50 lakh (nearly 1.7 crores or 210,000$ 2020) on her initial endeavors.
