Taapsee Pannu is a remarkable actress in the Bollywood film Industry. She began her professional life in the South but gradually built her way up north. She is one of the exclusive group of actresses who established themselves in both the north and South of the film industry.

She established her look with her distinctive curly hair appearance and is also a recognized actress. With her female-led protagonists, Pannu has produced several successful movies. Her sharp and snarky responses to media questions have occasionally drawn her into scandals and earned her accolades.

Young Life

Taapsee Pannu was born on August 1st, 1987, in New Delhi. While her mother, Nirmaljeet, stays at home, her father, Dilmohan Singh Pannu, works in the real estate industry. She is originally from Punjab. Taapsee Pannu attended Delhi's Mata Jai Kaur Public School, while her younger sister Shagun Pannu attended a different school. She completed her undergraduate studies in computer science engineering. She continued to work as a software engineer full-time after graduation. She first worked as a software developer before switching to modeling. She initially appeared in the talent competition "Get Gorgeous." After the auditions, her profile received positive publicity. She has participated in numerous runway events, including Femina Miss India.

She was simultaneously acting in TV advertisements for well-known companies such as Red FM, Motorola, Reliance Trends, Standard Chartered Bank, Airtel, PVR Cinemas, Dabur, and Havells. Pannu decided to switch her profession from modeling to acting after doing it for a sizable amount of time. She made the decision and began acting in movie auditions at that point.

Her Filmmaking Career in the South

In Manchu Manoj's first Telugu movie, "Jhummandi Naadam," Taapsee made her acting debut. Along with this picture, she received three further film offers. However, Pannu joined "Jhummandi Naadam." In 2011, she appeared in her first Tamil movie, "Aadukalam," which starred Dhanush. At the 58th National Film Awards, the movie won six prizes in six categories. That same year, she worked with Vishnu Manchu on the Telugu film "Vastadu Naa Raju". The movie reportedly did not perform particularly well at the box office. The next year, she acted in a Malayali movie named "Doubles." She co-starred in movies with famed Malayalam actor Mammootty.

Taapsee appeared as the second lead in the Telugu movie "Mr. Perfect" in 2011. She shared the screen with Prabhas and Kajal Aggarwal in the film. Her following movie, "Veera," starred Kajal Aggarwal and Ravi Teja in the major roles. The second female lead in the movie was Taapsee. Despite high production value, the movie barely made it through the box office. In the South, Pannu frequently changed languages to her preferences. Her next role was in the Tamil film "Vandhaan Vendraan" after "Veera."

Despite being in the feel-good genre, the movie did not do well at the box office. Unfortunately, the box office performance of this movie was similarly poor. After playing two consecutive second leads, she decided to play the major lead in the movie. She subsequently appeared in Krishna Vamsi's Telugu film "Mogudu" after that. Later, she appeared in the Telugu movie "Gundello Godari" opposite Lakshmi Manchu. She appeared in the 2012 film "Daruvu" with Ravi Teja as her co-star. Following the film, she appeared with Daggupati Venkatesh in "shadow." Then, in 2013, she co-starred with Nayanthara, Ajith Kumar, and Arya in the Tamil film "Arrambam." Taapsee won prestigious awards for her on-screen performance in the high-budget action thriller.

Her subsequent movie starred Raghava Lawrence, who also performed, produced, wrote, and directed the movie muni-3. Then she made a cameo role in the Tamil movie "Vai Raja Vai." She worked on the Telugu movie "Anando Brahma" in 2019. Later, she appeared in "Neevevaro" alongside Ritika Singh and Aadhi. She once more acted in the Tamil movie "Annabelle Sethupathi" in the South. She appeared in the movie as Vijay Sethupathi's co-star. The movie's box office performance was "not awful." Taapsee joined the Telugu film Mishan Impossible because she wanted to prove herself in the language again after "Anando Brahma." The movie has yet to come out. Work in the Hindi Film Business

"Chashme Baddoor" was Taapsee Pannu's first film released in Hindi. She co-starred with Rishi Kapoor in her very first Hindi film. She received some unfavorable reviews for the movie, but it was nevertheless a financial success. She took a lengthy one-year hiatus from acting after her series of successful South Asian film releases. Pannu appeared in a supporting role in the Akshay Kumar-starring movie "Baby" later that same year. In 2017, she appeared in Amit Roy's "Running Shaadi." Pannu received the offer for the movie "Pink" while filming "Running Shaadi." Taapsee prepared herself for the movie, which starred Amitabh Bachchan. The film she made after "Running Shaadi" was "The Ghazi Attack." Rana Daggubati portrayed the lead. Later, Pannu worked on a movie named "Naam Shabana." She had to learn martial arts for her part in the movie; therefore, she did so to play the part. She appeared in the 2018 film "Dil Junglee." The crowd and critics were not at all pleased with the movie. Soorma, Taapsee Pannu's subsequent movie, was based on a hockey player. The movie was a success at the box office, despite critics not giving it favorable reviews.

Her subsequent film, Mulk, was helmed by Anubhav Sinha. The theme of the movie was patriotism and nationalism. The movie Manmarziyaan by Anurag Kashyap came next. Vicky Kaushal and Abhishek Bachchan were co-stars in their acting roles. The movie had its world premiere in 2018 at the Toronto International Film Festival. Nitishastra and Baarish Aur Chowmein, two films starring Taapsee, were released that same year. She appeared in the Spanish adaptation "Badla" in 2019.

She worked on the psychological suspense thriller "Game Over" by Ashwin Saravanan. Tamil and Telugu versions of it came out at the same time. After that, she appears in the movie "Mission Mangal" as a space scientist. At the box office, the movie made 2.9 billion dollars.

Her next movie was "Saand Ki Aankh" after that. Her acting partner was Bhumi Pednekar. The movie featured Pannu as a sniper. The movie both received sufficient acclaim. She was given a role in the movie on that shot. She played a typical housewife in the movie "Thappad, and her husband slaps her sets of the plot. The movie was a success, and Taapsee received a tonne of glowing audience and reviewer acclaim, as well as news regarding her role in "The Indian Express." She received honors for the movie as well.

She appeared in the 2021 film "Haseen Dillruba," which also starred Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane. The movie was released via OTT. In 2021, it had the highest number of Netflix viewers.
