Sonu Nigam: Biography, Age, Songs, Wife, Family, Net Worth

Sonu Nigam is a well-known playback singer and music director from India who began singing when he was very young. He is a playback singer who succeeded and tried out several styles, which he could execute effortlessly. Sonu Nigam is frequently referred to as "Modern Rafi" since many say his technique is quite reminiscent of the renowned vocalist Mohammad Rafi.

Sonu Nigam learned everything he knew about music from his father at home. He taught him every nuance of music, which helped him mature. Sonu's love for music was greater than any of his other interests, and he later devoted himself entirely to it.

He decided to accompany his father to Mumbai when he was 18 years old to pursue a career in Bollywood music. With maestro Ghulam Mustafa Khan, he maintained his musical studies while hunting for career options. After evaluating his musical abilities and performances, he thought of becoming a playback singer in the Bollywood industry. Sonu Nigam is a superstitious person who even changed the spelling of his name from "Nigam" to "Niigaam" before deciding to return to the original.

Career in Singing

Sonu Nigam has produced music in many languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Nepali, and many more, including devotional, romantic, patriotic, and ghazal songs. Even his mainstream songs and albums of devotion have been released in other languages.

Nigam's not only perform in India, but also in other country of Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East. Sonu and "The Incredibles" worked together in 2007. The members of The Incredible were Sonu Nigam, Kailash Kher, Kunal Ganjawala, and Asha Bhosle. Under the name Simply Sonu, he also planned solo performances in Germany and Canada. He accomplished this first among Indian singers.

Beginning of Career: 1990–1999

In 1990, a song from the film Janam gave Sonu Nigam his big start as a playback vocalist. The movie was never released because of some unforeseen circumstances. Even though he had a contract with T-Series, it was rejected due to S. P. Balasubramaniam. T-Series owner Gulshan Kumar offered him an opportunity for a song from the popular film Bewafa Sanam despite his contract being rejected due to his enthusiasm and talent. He achieved significant success in the Bollywood industry thanks to the song "Achha Sila Diya Tune," which was a smash and made people aware of and appreciated this young, gifted singer.

After releasing his debut record, "Rafi Ki Yaadein," in 1993, Sonu Nigam recorded songs for numerous films, including Khuddar, Hulchul, Shera, Jeet, Dulhe Raja, Veerta, and many others. Career High Point: 2000–2010

Sonu Nigam's career peaked between 2000 and 2010 when he produced several top hits for which he received numerous nominations and victories at award ceremonies. The two most well-known songs that Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik performed then were Panchi Nadiya Pawan Ke and Suraj Hua Maddham. Sonu won his first Filmfare Award for the Saathiya title track. Gulzar wrote the song's lyrics, and A. R. Rahman composed the music.

Sonu Nigam's 2003 song Kal Ho Naa Ho was the one that brought him the most success at this time. Javed Akhtar penned the song's lyrics, and it was composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The title single from All Izz Well won Sonu Nigam the 2010 Global Indian Music Academy Awards. The BIG Star Entertainment Award for greatest playback singer of ten years also went to him.

Sonu Nigam worked with Britney Spears on "I Wanna Go" and DJ Avicii on the song "Indian Levels" in 2011. Sonu and Jermaine Jackson, Michael Jackson's brother, worked together to create the song as a homage to the late singer, because Sonu was battling for singers' royalties and against the businesses' illegal contracts, many of his songs between 2012 and 2015 were redubbed in other singers' voices by music labels. Controversy

He became embroiled in a dispute after offending some religious groups, who were angered. Since Sonu Nigam's words upset Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi, he offered a bounty of Rs. 10 lakh to anyone who could do so.
