On September 5, 2006, he moved from Delhi to Mumbai, where he worked as an assistant director for a while. He discussed his difficult times in an interview. He said: When I started working in theatre, I was more fascinated by the directors' processes than the players'. At first, I would get up early every morning and travel to each production facility. I would show up and start requesting work. The way they used to handle helpers back then was absurd. There were very few production houses where you would be asked for water.
In 2016, he was filming for the Dharma Productions movie "Raat Baaki," which starred Katrina Kaif and Fawad Khan. However, the movie was shelved after the terrorist attacks in Uri in September 2018 because Pakistani artists were prohibited from entering India.
