Sonali Bendre is an Indian actress and supermodel who has predominantly acted in the Bollywood industry, as well as Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Marathi flicks. Sonali Bendre is also a writer and social activist.

Sonali was born on 1 January 1975. She is from a middle-class Hindu household. She has two younger sisters. Her dad worked for the government. Sonali Bendre and Goldie Behl met on the set of the film Angaaray. The film's producer was Goldie. According to rumours, Mamta Kulkarni was scheduled to have a role in the film instead of Sonali. Mamta, on the other hand, refused the offer, and the part went to Sonali's kitty. She was cast in the part of Roma, and her performance received widespread acclaim. It was in this film that Goldie and Sonali fell in love and later married.

  • Bendre made a mark before competing in the Star Dust Talent Search. She was then featured in Ram, a film made by Sohail Khan. This film, however, was never created. Just at age of 19, she landed her 1st significant part in Aag (1994). She got honored with the Filmfare Award for Lux New Face year and The Star Screen Award for Most Impressive Newbie for her efforts. She also acted in (Naaraaz), for which she received Filmfare's Sensational Debut award.   In 1995, she sang the song Humma Humma in Mumbai.

Bendre was shortlisted for Planet - Bollywood People's Choice Awards (Best Supporting Actress). Bendre's active career came to an end in 2004.

  • Sonali dropped out of India's Got Talent in 2012 to promote her comeback film (Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara!) Milan Luthria, the director, defined her role as follows: “Mumtaz is the name of Sonali's character”. The name connotes mystery and is vital to the narrative of the film. The figure does not fit into the typical mold of a mother, sister, or bhabhi, but instead has its personality which is what sets it apart. That is why Sonali agreed to take part in the film.
  • Bendre helmed the tv dance program (Kya Masti Kya Dhoom). (Indian Idol 4), (Mr & Mrs Television), (Hindustan Ke Hunarbaaz), (India's Got Talent), and (India's Best Dramebaaz) have all featured her as a talent juror.
