Sonu Sood was birthed on Monday, July 38, 1973 in Moga, Punjab, under the sign of Leo. Sonu Sood was born into a Hindu family; his father, Shakti Sagar Sood, was a businessman, while his mother, Saroj Sood, taught. He has a younger sister, Malvika Sachar, and an elder sister, Monica Sood. On 10 January 2022, his little sister, Malvika Sachar, embraced the Indian National Congress amid Punjab Chief Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu and Charanjit Singh Channi. Sonu Sood is wedded to Sonali Sood, and they have two kids, Ayaan Sood and Ishan Sood. She is the first and only lady Sood has ever dated. These met for the first time in a Nagpur college and hitched in a court of law. His spouse has been a prominent participant in Sood's fight in Bollywood.

Education

He received his education at Moga Sacred Heart School. Sood temporarily worked at his father's business in Moga after finishing his 10th grade, where he learned to recognize different textiles and how to market them. He then went to Nagpur and was admitted to the Yashwantrao Chavan College of Engineering to study electronics. Sood excelled in academics throughout his school and college years, and while he was in his second year of college, his classmates pushed him to seek a career in modeling and acting.

Struggle

Sood moved to Mumbai after finishing his graduation and began taking modeling assignments. Sood worked at a private sector firm in South Mumbai during his early years in Mumbai to cover his day-to-day costs before becoming an actor. He also competed in the Grasim Mr. India pageant, finishing in the top five.

  • Sood debuted in Tamil films in 1999, with Nenjinile and Kallazhagar. In 2000, he played an antihero in Hands Up!- A Telugu film.
  • He was first featured in Majunu in 2001. He made his Hindi film debut as Bhagat Singh in Shaheed-E-Azam in 2002. Sonu rose to prominence as Abhishek Bachchan's sibling in Mani Ratnam's Yuva in 2004 and Aashiq Banaya Aapne in 2005.
  • With the premiere of Super in 2005, he gained wider notoriety for his efforts in Tollywood. In this film, he co-starred with Nagarjuna, who played an elevated thief. His next film was Athadu. In 2006, he reprised his role as the antihero in Ashok. It was a low-grossing picture, although he had gained popularity in Telugu cinema by this point.
  • In 2009, he portrayed Pasupathy in Arundhati. Following the release of Arundhati in Tollywood, he played Rajkumar Sujamal in Ashutosh Gowariker's Indian epic film Jodha Akbar. In 2009, he portrayed criminal Bada alongside Ravi Teja in Anjaneyulu. In the latter half of 2009, he appeared as the antihero in another Telugu film, Ek Niranjan. In 2010, he co-starred alongside Salman Khan as the main antagonist in Abhinav Kashyap's Dabangg.

Social Welfare during Pandemic

As much as Sonu Sood enjoys acting, he is passionate about social welfare. Some of the initiatives taken by him for the betterment of society are as follows:

  • Sonu organized buses, special trains, and chartered flights aircraft for masses of detained Indian migrant laborers in May 2020, amid the statewide lockdown caused by the COVID-19 virus. In July 2020, he organized a chartered flight from Bishkek to Varanasi to transport around 1,500 Indian pupils who had been stranded in Kyrgyzstan home. During the epidemic, his compassion was acclaimed, and he was regarded as a real-life hero in India.
  • On 5 August 2020, he assisted 101 medical students, mostly from Tamil Nadu, who were trapped in Moscow during the shutdown to safely arrive in Chennai on a chartered airplane organized by him after they called his team for assistance. On his birthday, he launched Pravasi Rojgar, an app, and website that assists migrant workers in finding acceptable jobs amid the pandemic.
  • On February 19, 2021, Sood launched the 'Ilaaj India' framework to provide medical care to the needy. He launched "I Am No Messiah" in December 2020, an autobiographical book on his journey to being an artist as well as his charitable efforts throughout the pandemic.

  • The BMC lodged a petition against the actor in January 2021 for converting a six-story house in Juhu, Mumbai, into a hotel. According to reports, Sonu Sood utilized this facility for quarantine facilities for medical personnel during the early days of the coronavirus shutdown in the country.
