CISF Full Form

The Central Industrial Security Force is the full form of the organization. It is the Indian Central Armed Police Force, which is subordinate to the Indian government's Ministry of Home Affairs. It is the biggest industrial safety force in the world. It employs over 170,000 people throughout its thirty-two units. Its main offices are in India's capital, New Delhi.

It is a member of the CAPAF, or Central Armed Police Force. Over 356 industrial units, including 13 private sector units, and government-owned projects, services, and enterprises spread throughout India are secured by the CISF. Following that, on June 15, 1983, an additional Act of Congress established the CISF as the military of India. There are currently 148,371 people on it. The authorized capacity was increased by the government from 145,000 to 180,000 people in April 2017. Its responsibilities include safety at airports, the Delhi Metro, and protecting key government properties. The Indian Ministry of Homeland Security oversees the CISF, which has its main office in New Delhi.

In addition, CISF offers consulting services to various Indian government agencies and the business sector. CISF offers security and firefighting advice, among other consultation services.

It's important for disaster prevention as well. The 'Fire Wing' of the CISF assists in the event of a fire in an industry where the CISF is on active duty.

 History:

As its name implies, it was established on the tenth of March 1969, by a bill of Parliament, with a staff of about 2,800 people, having the goal of improving the safety and security of the nation's manufacturing facilities. A restriction existed, nevertheless, stating that businesses eligible for security had to be entirely controlled by the government at large. This has been altered to allow businesses to operate as joint ventures alongside the federal government. Organization and Structure:

An Indian Police Service personnel holding the title of Director-General leads the CISF under the assistance of an IPS officer holding the rank of Addl. Director-General. The organization has a Fire Service Branch and is split into nine sectors: Airport, the north, North-East, East, West, South, Training, South-East, and Central.

An Inspector General assists the IPS official holding the rank of Addl. Director-General, who is in charge of the Airport Sector. There is one Area Formation Group for every airport in the Airport Sector. At large international airports, Deputy Inspector-Generals or Commandants oversee the units, while Deputy or Assistant Commandants oversee those at smaller ones. An Inspector-General oversees the remaining six Fields, with a Deputy Inspector-General providing support.

The seven geographic Fields are organized into Regions, with a Deputy Inspector-General in each Region. There are several organizations within each Zone, all of which are commanded by a Commander (or, in the case of some significant Units, a DIG). In most components, a deputy commander acts as the second-in- or leader of a subunit. An Inspector-General oversees the National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) under the Training and Development Sector, while Deputy Inspector General has charge of the Fire Service Training Institute (FSTI) and six additional recruit facilities for training.

Women in CISF:

At first, only men were eligible to apply for jobs in the CISF while being posted there. When Mrs. Asha Sinha took over as Commander of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited in the year 1992, she achieved the prestigious title of becoming the very first Woman Commander of a Central Armed Police Forces in India. In the past, women were permitted to work in the Central Armed Police Forces, which involves the CISF, although only in managerial capacities. Expanded responsibilities for women in the CAPF, especially CISF, were advocated by the Parliamentary Committees in India for Women's Empowerment. Based on these suggestions, the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs announced reservations for women in paramilitary forces' constabulary, then subsequently announced that women might be admitted as professionals in positions of combat in each of the five CAFs (Central Armed Police).

The announcement was made by the Union Home Minister to increase the percentage of women in the CISF and CRPF to 15%. On January 5, 2016, a decision was made to gradually allocate 33% of police positions in the CRPF and CISF for female personnel. The CISF is pushing more women into roles in locations where there is more interaction among the public and law enforcement, particularly in airports along with metro stations.

Protection of Non-Nationalized Industries and the Corporate Area by CISF:

Following the passing of the CISF (Amendment) Bill, 2008, the Indian Parliament on February 25, 2009, authorized the distribution of Central Industrial Security Force protection to private and cooperative companies throughout the nation for a cost.

The Bill, approved by the Legislative Assembly of India on the 25th of February 2009 and passed by the Rajya Sabha on the nineteenth of February 2009, additionally calls for the sending out of the CISF to safeguard Indian embassies overseas and its involvement in international peacekeeping efforts.

In Shantiniketan, the state of West Bengal, the Vice-Chancellor of the Visva-Bharati University has requested that the Central Government station members of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) be on campus constantly.

Metro security in Delhi:
