RSA Full Form

RSA stands for Rivest, Shamir, and Adleman. These are the people who invented the RSA algorithm. It is a method of public-key encryption used for safe data transfer, particularly over the internet. This technology uses a common encryption approach, enabling it to securely transmit sensitive and confidential data over the internet.

RSA Data Security Inc. was created in 1978 by the scientists Rivest, Shamir, and Adleman. The standard message is augmented with a code in this approach for increased security. The factorization of huge numbers forms the foundation of the method. Large numbers are difficult for factories, making it hard for the outside to intercept the message.

Working of RSA

It uses two keys:

• Public key : It is composed of a pair of values, each of which is the result of two enormous prime numbers. Everyone who uses the system is given this key.
• Private key : It is derived from the two prime integers used in the public key and is never disclosed.

The Disadvantages of RSA

• Due to the fact that RSA only utilizes asymmetric cryptography while both symmetric and asymmetry cryptography is necessary for full encryption, it may occasionally fail.
• The high volume of participants causes a sluggish data transfer rate.
• The dependability of public keys occasionally must be checked by a 3rd person.
• Decryption needs a lot of computing power on the receiver's end.
• For public data encryption, such as electoral voting, RSA cannot be utilized.
