What does Alt + X do?

Alt + X is used for displaying the character’s Unicode character code and is a widely used keyboard shortcut.

Usage of Alt  + X keyboard shortcut

For using the Alt + X shortcut, first press and hold the “Alt” key on the keyboard, then press the "X” key, then the Alt + X shortcut is done as shown in the figure below.

What does Alt + X do

Alt + X in Microsoft Word

In Microsoft Word, when the character is selected, and Alt + X is pressed, the character's associated Unicode character code is shown.

Alt + X in Twitch

In Twitch, when Alt + X is pressed, it clips the current stream we are watching.
