What does Alt+E do?

Computer keyboard shortcut keys play a very important role in every computer user. We can do anything from the mouse and keyboard, but shortcut keys provide data in a time-efficient manner; we can predict all options just by pressing some shortcut keys. These keys are easily available on the keyboard. “Alt+E” is the most important shortcut key used by users to easily predict all possible types of file menu operations. We can get the desired result by simply pressing these shortcut keys. It saves our valuable time, and we can do all the operations in a very fast manner.

The Alt +E keyboard shortcut's main function is to edit the file menu option.

How to use the Alt+E keyboard shortcut key?

First of all, press and hold the Alt key on the keyboard; after that, at the same time, press the “E” key from the keyboard.

This shortcut key is also used in the Google sheet. If we press the Alt + E key, it edits the file menu related to the data. There are so many menu options available in the Google sheet. There are some differences in the Google sheet from the Ctrl + E key. Ctrl + E in the Google sheet provides expanded array formula.

How does it differ from Ctrl + E shortcut key?

“Ctrl + E” is also an important shortcut key. Its functions vary from program to program. In the case of the internet browser, we can say that it is used to focus on address or search bar option. But in the case of other programs like Microsoft PowerPoint, it aligns an object in the center of any slide. It also differs from Microsoft Word.

Following are the main differences:

  1. Ctrl+E in the internet browser:  Ctrl + E is a famous shortcut key available for the computer. Ctrl +E works on almost every web browser, including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Opera, and Internet explorer. CTRL+E focuses on the search key option. The main task is to ctrl+E in the web browser is to search the new article when you are working in the internet browser. It helps to view and search the address bar, search bar, and Omnibox. When you are working on the current page, and if you want to type on the new search bar option, then this will be useful. On the other side, For the Alt+E, In Google Chrome, it opens the chrome menu. In Microsoft internet explorer, it opens the file menu option for editing purposes.
  2. Ctrl+E in Microsoft word:  In Microsoft word, Ctrl +E changes the alignment of a line of text. By use of this, all text resides in the center of the document.
  3. Ctrl +E in Microsoft PowerPoint: In Microsoft PowerPoint, Ctrl +E changes the alignment of a line of text in the working slide. By using this, all text resides in the center of the slide.
  4. Ctrl +E in Google Sheet: By pressing the Ctrl +E in Google sheet, all expanded formulas are collapsed in one place so we can easily recover in any time frame. Generally, when working in the Google sheet, we have to use many formulas to create documents. If large documents arethere, it is not easy to search the particular formula easily. So by using Ctrl+E, we can collapse all formulas related to particular working documents. On the other side, In the case of the Alt +E, edit the file menu which is currently used. If we want to modify that file in Google Sheets, these shortcut keys helpto edit the file.
  5. Ctrl +E in Skype:  Skype is an important tool widely used in offices, companies, etc. It interconnects all working computers so that we can easily share data on any computer. By using Skype, pressing the Ctrl +E, it hangs the current cells working on it. Computers' shortcut keys playan important role to helps achievethis. But in the case of Alt +E, there is no option with the Skype tools.
