Are smartphones and tablets computers
The answer is yes. In modern times, at least a laptop /tablet /desktop /smartphone will be in a home. Because they play an important and vital role in everyone’s life irrespective of age and what profession they are doing, these things are very important in this modern and materialistic world.
In this new era, all are connected by global networking called the internet. Everyone needs at least a smartphone to survive in this world as it plays a major role in whatever important things will be shared or can be known through smartphones only. For example, you want to know anything in any situation or wherever we there, we use smartphones or tablets.
As we cannot always carry laptops with us, we use smartphones most of the time. Both android and Apple iPad are considered tablet devices. We communicate, send e-mails, can able to send live locations, access can access social networks wherever we want if we have good internet or Wi-Fi connection. Mobile phones and smartphones both are mobile devices; the only difference between them is that smartphones will have extra and advanced features. Like we can play advanced games and cameras, can download apps according to our users, and, also, we can access the internet by using smartphones.
We are almost well experienced in how technology affects our lives. Then to use this technology properly to understand things or to know about them, we need to know how to operate the smartphone. Knowing how to operate a desktop or laptop comes in second place, whereas learning how to operate a smartphone and using it will be in the first place. If not, to do even a small thing which we do not know also becomes a difficult thing for us. So, we can understand how the people in this world have become reliant on technology.
Let's demonstrate that tablets and smartphones are computers.
Tablets and smartphones are indeed considered computers. Both have similar capabilities to do the desired things for the users. But they have a few key differences.
There were so many things to prove that tablets and smartphones are indeed computers. When we compare tablets and computers, the difference between them is the computer is connected with wires and all other things. When coming to the tablet, we can use it as a personal portable computer, but it is a wireless device. We do not have a touchscreen option for desktops, but for tablets, we have it. The device tablet is of the same size as a small notebook. Which can be held by hands comfortably when we sit or stand.
It can be said smartphones and tablets as handled by computers. Because if we keep screen size aside, almost all works we can able to do in both smartphones and tablets like we do use laptops or computer systems.
Like we can use MS word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Google sheets and many other editing apps on smartphones and tablets in the same way we use them on laptops or desktops. But few things are mandatory to use on computers or laptops only, and they do not have access to tablets and smartphones. Few websites work only in computer systems but not in handled devices. So, here we can say that mobile devices are computers.
Another thing to demonstrate that mobile devices, smartphones and tablets are computers is in the computer for getting output on the screen, we give input through keyboard/mouse and for the things that we need in smartphones, we give input by typing on the touch screen, and we see the output on the screen. Here, the small difference between these devices is only output is visible on the screen of computers, and we give input through the keyboard, while in handled devices, we give input through a touchscreen interface and output is also visible on the same touchscreen only.
Imagine a situation in which we have to use a laptop or computer device to do something that is mandatory, but those things are not with us. What do we do then? We use handled devices to do that particular work.
If we want to read a word document or a PowerPoint presentation on mobile devices, simply by installing MS word and MS PowerPoint apps, can read those documents in them.
Another interesting thing is that both handled devices, tablets and smartphones, accept peripherals (hardware input devices or also referred to as output devices) by allowing the usage of a keyboard and mouse. A keyboard, mouse, microphone, joystick, printer, plotter speakers, projector, sound card, and tape drive are some peripherals. But the only difference between a computer and a peripheral is that peripherals cannot work on their own. Simply can, it is incapable of working on its own and depend on computers to work properly.
